Why not drop down a little early or stay a few days after to enjoy everything there is to see and do in the Maritimes? See the World’s Largest Flower Pots in Hopewell Cape, N.B. or Fundy Park, ‘cause the Bay of Fundy has the World’s Highest Tides—some fools have even been surfin’ on the Petitcodiac! Prince Edward Island and that cute little red-head are just a quick spin over the Confederation Bridge, and Halifax, N.S. is a pretty swanky city for culture ‘n good eats. Anyways, get on the Google and check us out!
So sign up right quick, eh, we’re some excited to share our down-home kitchen party with our colleagues from sea ta sea!!

PeriAnesthesia Nursing Week 2015 (French)
The National Association of PeriAnesthesia Nurses of Canada (NAPAN©) was formed in 2002 by a group of like-minded individuals, all PeriAnesthesia Nurses from across Canada, each with their own provincial perianesthesia nursing association. The intent of this alignment was to increase networking of knowledge, skills and strength of their specialty in order to improve patient care and to increase recognition of their/our area of specialty.
NAPAN© is comprised of associations from across 10 provinces and 3 territories of Canada (click on the flags to your left to learn more about each province or territory: by holding your cursor over the flag, the name of the province that each flag represents will appear). The task of organizing an association across a country of this size can be a daunting one, but over time and with perseverance and tenacity, this specialty association finally came to fruition and has now reached international recognition. Modern technology has enhanced this possibility, as the Association is now purely web based for its members and through electronic mail and web-based communications, the Volunteers of NAPAN© are able to meet and plan.
NAPAN in Cree means “Eyes Open”, and thus the quarterly newsletter has been named the “Eye Opener”. The NAPAN© logo reflects this theme with the red maple leaf inside the large “C” resembling the pupil of an eye.
This website will evolve over time as new and current information in the field of PeriAnesthesia Nursing becomes available and necessary for our work. So keep your eye on NAPAN© and on this website! And watch what NAPAN© is doing for you now!
In closing, we would like to thank the Founding Members of NAPAN© for their foresight and passion for creating the National Association of PeriAnesthesia Nurses of Canada (please see "Founding Members" under "About NAPAN©").
"There is no magic in the word association. We must never forget that the individual makes the association. What the association depends on are its members. A nurse's association can never substitute for the individual nurse. It is she who must, each in her own measure, give life to the association while the association helps her.”
- Florence Nightingale
