About PANBC
The PeriAnesthesia Nurses of British Columbia (PANBC) was founded in 2002 by a passionate and dedicated group of PACU nurses who were true trailblazers for the profession in BC. Their vision and commitment showed us the way, and we are grateful for it.
Now, in 2026, PANBC is proud to announce its revitalization. Our purpose remains steadfast: to advance excellence in PeriAnesthesia nursing across British Columbia by supporting registered nurses in all phases of PeriAnesthesia care through education, professional connection, and the promotion of best practices.
We are committed to building a strong, province-wide network that reflects the full scope of PeriAnesthesia practice by connecting nurses in both urban and rural regions, sharing evidence-based practice updates, and providing access to webinars, educational resources, and professional development opportunities.
PANBC also maintains meaningful ties beyond our borders. Through our collaboration with NAPANc and our connection to the International Collaboration of PeriAnaesthesia Nurses (ICPAN), we keep BC nurses linked to national and global standards, emerging initiatives, and cross-border opportunities that strengthen our practice and our profession.
We understand the very real pressures nurses face today, including staffing shortages, rising patient acuity, and system strain, and we are here to champion professional resilience, advocacy, and peer connection.
You belong here. Whether you are a seasoned PeriAnesthesia nurse or just beginning your journey in PACU, pre-op, or post-anesthetic care, PANBC is your professional home in BC. Membership is your opportunity to connect with like-minded colleagues, stay current in your practice, and have a voice in shaping the future of PeriAnesthesia nursing in this province. We are rebuilding, and we want you to be part of it. Every new member strengthens our community and brings us closer to the vibrant, province-wide network our profession deserves.
Together, we grow as a province and as a country.
