• The Quebec PeriAnesthesia Nurses Association (QPANA) was founded in June 1991. QPANA’s mission is to promote, maintain, and improve the standards of care, while ensuring quality care of the speciality and fostering the professional growth of its members. QPANA maintains its mission through:

  • Providing educational opportunities in all phases of perianesthesia care through its annual conference and general assembly.
  • Contributing to the revision of the National Standards for Practice.
  • Participating in the process of the National Certification in perianesthesia nursing.
  • Formulating, analyzing, and implementing standards of perianesthesia nursing practice.
  • Promoting public awareness and understanding of the perianesthesia care.
  • Exchanging professional knowledge while networking on a provincial, national, and international level
  • Facilitating cooperation between the health care professionals involved with the care of the perianesthesia patient
  • Encouraging research in all phases of perianesthesia nursing
  • Promoting interest and professional growth of nurses directly or indirectly involved in the care of the perianesthesia patient

L’Association des infirmières et infirmiers en soins périanesthésiques du Québec (AIPAQ) a été fondée en juin 1991. Sa mission est de promouvoir, maintenir et consolider les normes de soins, tout en assurant la qualité de la spécialité et en mettant l’accent sur la croissance professionnelle de ses membres. L'Association maintient sa mission grâce aux actions suivantes :

• Fournir des opportunités éducatives dans toutes les phases de soins périanesthésiques lors de ses conférences annuelles et de ses assemblées générales.
• Contribuer au niveau national dans la révision des normes de pratique.
• Participer dans le processus de la certification nationale en soins périanesthésiques.
• Formuler, analyser et mettre en place des normes de pratique en soins infirmiers périanesthésiques.
• Sensibiliser et informer le public sur les soins infirmiers périanesthésiques.
• Partager des connaissances professionnelles à travers les différents paliers, soit au niveau provincial, national et international.
• Faciliter la coopération entre les professionnels de la santé impliqués dans les soins au patient en périanesthésie.
• Encourager la recherche à toutes les phases des soins infirmiers périanesthésiques.
• Susciter l'intérêt et promouvoir la croissance professionnelle des infirmières et infirmiers directement ou indirectement impliqué(e)s dans les soins au patient périanesthésique.
